Onboarding – New Students

What to do when you get admitted as a student

Here you can see in one place the most important information concerning what a new student needs to know and do when admitted to a TCM program.

Student email / TCM Microsoft account

When you get admitted, you get your own @tcmi.edu account, which consists of your first name and your unique, 5-digit id, for example: john12345@tcmi.edu.
You are given a temporary password which you need to change the first time you login. You also need to set up multifactor authentication.

Your @tcmi.edu account is linked to a Microsoft account. This means that you can use it to access Microsoft services.
You can use your email at outlook.office.com or in your preferred email client.
You can access web version of Microsoft Office apps here.
Please visit the TCM Getting Started with Microsoft Guide to learn more about downloading Office 365 for free and more.

You also use this email to login to the SMS and Moodle (see below).

Important! You are required to always use your student email account for any correspondence with TCM International Institute and for accessing the student services. The only exception is when you need to recover access to your student account in which case you must use the email you provided when you applied for your program.

If you can’t access your @tcmi.edu account, contact the Help Desk.

Student Management System (SMS) – Student Portal

SMS is the platform that serves as a Student Portal. It includes student’s profile information, records and degree audits for the academic programs the student is enrolled in, including grades.

To log into SMS click here and use the Sign in with Microsoft button (remember to use your @tcmi.edu email).

Detailed instructions on how to navigate SMS are available here.

Program requirements

Program requirements change, depending on the year in which you were admitted to your program.
Your Program Requirements are available under your Program Degree Audit in the Student Management System (SMS, see above).
You can log in to SMS with your student email account (see above), by clicking on the Sign in with Microsoft button (remember to use your @tcmi.edu email).

Institute fees

In most cases, the only fee you need to pay is a Course Registration Fee – one-time fee, paid for each course. This fee varies depending on the country you are from.

Important! No subsequent courses may be taken until the student has paid any outstanding (past due) fee or reimbursement.

For information regarding fees, please see the TCMI Institute website here.

Moodle

All courses are held online on Moodle platform – on online learning platform. This is the place where you will find all the information about each specific course, submit assignments, communicate with the professor and other students, etc.

You can access Moodle at learn.tcmi.edu using your @tcmi.edu email account.

You can find guides on using Moodle here.
