Admission Policies
Pre-Admission Study Policy
Any MA or MDiv applicant may take ONE TCMI Institute course before a formal application commitment. Credit for the course taken can be given to the student only when the following 3 conditions are met:
- All pre-class assignments, reading, and the exam are completed and a final passing grade is given to the student by the professor.
- A completed application has been submitted within 6 months of taking the course.
- The applicant has been officially admitted into the TCMI Institute MA or MDiv degree program by the Admissions Committee of TCMI Institute
Application Policy: The following steps must be completed to apply for Admission to the Certificate program or the Master of Arts and Master of Divinity degree programs:
Step 1: An Application Form must be filled out in English.
Step 2: The following items must be submitted to your National Director with the application:
Required by all MA and MDiv applicants
- Photocopy of university Diploma
- University Transcript - a official copy of the written record of classes --a photocopy of the original will only be considered OFFICIAL if notarized.
- Translation of Transcript in English
Required by all applicants: Certificate / MA / MDiv
- Completed recommendation form from the Pastor or from an Elder of the church (if the applicant is the pastor). Use the TCMI Institute Recommendation Form that is posted on the website attached to the Certificate and MA Application form. The Pastor or Elder recommendation form should be sent directly to the TCMI Institute National Director
- Two passport-sized photographs of applicant
- Family Photograph (if the applicant is married)
Step 3: Send the completed application along with the other items above to the TCMI National Director of your country. Do not send the application to Haus Edelweiss in Austria IMPORTANT The TCMI Institute National Director WILL NOT process your application until ALL the documents and items listed above have been submitted. If an application is sent to the office in Austria and any item is missing, no action will be taken and the paperwork will not be forwarded to the Admissions Committee.
- The applicant should allow approximately 8 weeks (after ALL ITEMS are submitted) for the application process.
- A TCMI Institute representative in Austria will notify the Applicant and the appropriate National Director in writing when the Admissions Committee has made a decision.
English Proficiency Requirement for MDiv applicants:
- A student confirms (by submitting supporting evidence) his/her ability in using the English language at M.Div level by submitting an acceptable IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (570) score with his completed MDiv application.
- If such confirmation is not possible, then the student will be permitted to enroll in one M.Div course, with the Dean's approval, on a provisional basis. All assignments (reading, writing, in-course assignments, exam) for the course will be completed in English. The professor will make a recommendation to the Dean regarding English proficiency based on the competency of the students' work at the completion of this course.
- If the student is determined to have achieved a level of competency in English by the professor and the Dean, the student's application to the MDiv program will be considered and if admitted, given credit for the provisional course. If the student does not achieve a level of English competency, the student is required to take an English-learning course (PT 569 - Readings in Practical Theology in English) and to reapply once it is believed the level of English is adequate. After the completion of the course PT 569, the students' level of English competency will be determined and either recommended for consideration or directed to further English learning.
